Avid surfer, free diver, and bluewater sailor. Have technical skills in ocean and whitewater kayaking, rock and mountain climbing, sailing and ocean navigation.
(2000 - 2005) Temporary retirement
My wife, Cary, and I enjoyed a temporary retirement voyaging aboard our 36-foot steel sailboat "Illusion" throughout the north and south Pacific Oceans. We traveled, lived, and worked among many far-flung tropical islands and atolls. At the end of our travels, we sold Illusion in Australia, and chose the Big Island of Hawai'i to be our new home.
